Main Speaker – Gary Nelson

Gary is President of Tyndale University College and Seminary in Toronto (as of July 1, 2010).

Baptist Leader

From June 2000 to June 2010 he served as General Secretary of Canadian Baptist Ministries. Prior to being General Secretary of CBM, Gary was senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Edmonton. In 2004, he became a vice-president of the Baptist World Alliance.

Gary has also been an adjunct professor at Carey Theological College in Vancouver.

Gary is also an author:

Borderland Churches: A Congregation’s Introduction to Missional Living

Gary Nelson addresses the disconnect between religion and God by looking at what is happening in our culture and in our churches. He demonstrates a passion for the Church, the people and for God and calls for us to once again be passionate followers of Jesus Christ who listen with compassion as we navigate the waters of change in our churches.

Future Faith Churches
Co-Authored with Don Posterski

How can a church survive into the next millennium? That is the question Don Posterski and Gary Nelson asked themselves while researching and writing ‘Future Faith Churches’. This book shows the way through to the 21st century by examining 14 examples of churches — from Pentecostal to mainline liberal — that are combining the strands of evangelism, social action, church growth, and strong leadership to create the fabric of their worshipping community.

Special Monday Night Concert: Tim Timmons

Join us for a special Monday night concert with Christian artist Tim Timmons at 7:00pm at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.

Admission is free – load up your church van!

Learn more about Tim at http://timmonsmusic.com.

By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. (Hebrews 11:8)

David Bailey & The Arrabon Band

Our worship leaders for this year’s meeting are David Bailey & The Arrabon Band.

David M. Bailey is a speaker, and producer that has spent the past decade using music as a tool in the reconciliation process. He is an active worship leader and presenter at national and international conferences.

His specialty is in leading multi-cultural worship, equipping Christian communities with the tools needed to connect diverse people and cultures. David presently serves as Worship Leader at Bon Air Baptist Church, Richmond.

He is on the core leadership team for the National Multicultural Worship Leaders Network. David is the author of Arrabon: Learning Reconciliation through Community and Worship Music and a contributing author for Worship and Mission for the Global Church: An Ethnodoxology Handbook.

David and his wife Joy live in Richmond, Virginia and enjoy exploring new cities and entertaining friends (old and new) in their home.

The Arrabon Band is a collaboration between gifted singers, songwriters, and musicians committed to see the Kingdom of God be seen on earth as it is in heaven through multicultural worship. They lead worship at various conferences throughout the year and annually host a concert in March featuring new music.

You may listen to samples of their music here.

We’re thrilled that they’ll be joining us in Hampton!
